Choosing a diamond shouldn’t be complicated. In practice, a diamond’s value and beauty are mainly determined by three essential elements: color, clarity and cut.

At FIRESC we always recommend choosing a balanced diamond — not necessarily the most expensive, but the one that offers the best visual beauty for your budget.

1. Diamond Color

Diamond color is graded from D to Z:

  • D-F → exceptionally white (very rare)
  • G-H → premium white (excellent beauty/value balance)
  • I-J → slightly warm, still very attractive in most settings
  • K+ → noticeable yellow tint

For most clients, G-H provides the best balance between a premium look and value.

  • For a very white appearance: F-G
  • Best value/quality balance: G-H
  • For a larger-looking diamond within the same budget: I-J

2. Diamond Clarity

Clarity indicates how “clean” a diamond is internally. Most inclusions are NOT visible to the naked eye.

  • FL / IF → extremely rare
  • VVS1-VVS2 → inclusions very difficult to see
  • VS1-VS2 → excellent for most clients
  • SI1-SI2 → small inclusions, sometimes invisible without magnification

In practice, many VS and some SI1 diamonds appear perfect to the human eye.

  • Discreet premium: VVS2
  • Smart budget optimization: certain SI1 eye-clean diamonds

3. Diamond Cut

Cut is the most important factor for brilliance. A well-cut diamond can look larger, brighter and more valuable. A poorly cut diamond will look “dull,” even if it has excellent color and clarity.
